Visiting the Theatre: You Can't Just Walk Inside for a Tour

The Hollywood Pantages Theatre is right in the heart of everything. Located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard, The Pantages is within walking distance of all the big "Hollywood and Vine" attractions you plan to see. While everyone wants a peek inside this iconic theatre, it's not open to members of the public who aren't ticket holders. That means your first step in planning a visit is checking out the box office to find a show you want to see. The good news is that all the best classic and contemporary plays and Broadway shows roll into the theatre all year. Take your pick from the fun and modern "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" or classic "Les Misérables" when booking a seat.

What Makes This Theatre So Special?

The Pantages rose during Hollywood's glamour era! Built by Alexander Pantages in 1929, the glitzy and ambitious theatre opened in the summer of 1930 with a screening of a Marion Davies flick called "The Floradora Girl." The Pantages has undergone many transformations throughout its lifespan. Howard Hughes owned the theatre for a brief stint in the 1950s. The Pantages has also hosted the Academy Awards, the Emmy Awards, the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, and the premieres of movies ranging from "Spartacus" in 1960 to "Star Wars: Rogue One" in 2016. Over the years, countless movie scenes and music videos have been filmed inside The Pantages. Movie fans with a sharp eye will recognize the venue from scenes in "The Bodyguard" and "Ed Wood."
